The Welfare Committee has reviewed its eye treatment scheme for seafarers with effect from 1st October 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>

This scheme is meant for both the active and registered retired seafarers. Under this scheme the beneficiary will be refunded 80%<\/strong> of cost incurred for the purchase of frames, lenses and consultation fees up to a maximum amount of Rs 13,500 every two-calendar year.<\/strong><\/p>

Also note that as from 1st July 2023, the same is applied to the seafarers’ spouse for their eye treatments3<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

  1. The beneficiary should be registered as an active or registered retired seafarer with the Seafarers\u2019 Welfare Fund.<\/li>
  2. The beneficiary should not be covered under any similar scheme with his employer or elsewhere.<\/li>
