Medical Schemes

The Welfare Committee has reviewed its Medical Scheme for seafarers, since 1st October 2025.

Under this scheme the beneficiary will be refunded 80% of costs incurred for medical treatment up to a maximum of Rs 20,000 to registered RETIRED seafarers ONLY every calendar year.

Also note that the same is applied to the seafarers’ spouse for their medical. treatment.

Eligibility and criteria

  1. The beneficiary should be registered as retired seafarer with the Seafarers’ Welfare Fund.
  2. The beneficiary should not be covered under any similar scheme with his employer or elsewhere.
