On 11 August 2025, the Seafarers’ Welfare Fund (SWF) warmly welcomed the crew of MV Maersk Felixstowe to Mauritius with a special shore excursion. Designed to offer seafarers a well-deserved break from their demanding routines at sea, the day featured cultural exploration, scenic sightseeing, and moments of relaxation.
Transport was arranged from the port to key attractions, allowing the crew to discover the island’s rich heritage, enjoy local cuisine, and experience the warmth of Mauritian hospitality. The excursion also served as an opportunity for the SWF team to connect with the seafarers, offering welfare support, recreational activities, and access to information on SWF services.
The event was met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback from the crew, reinforcing SWF’s commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of all visiting seafarers to our shores.
